Award Recipients for 2007:  Craig Brater, M.D., Lifetime Award for Distinguished Service in Years of Health Advancement; Kathleen Russell, D.N.S., Excellence in Health Science Research; Tony and Mary Hulman Health Achievement Awards for Environmental Health:  Vigo County Health Department Lead Poisoning Program; and Ron Shake, Sullivan County Community Hospital.  Hulman Awards for Preventive Medicine and Public Health:  Clarian Medical Center West Diabetic Care program; Nena Ray, Clarian Health Methodist Hospital; HealthNet Immunization Program; David Hadley, M.D., Hendricks County Health Officer; St. Francis Heart Center EHART Program; Pat Custer, R.D., Clarian Health; and HealthNet Tobacco Cessation Program.

If you would like to attend the Awards Dinner and Program, you may purchase a table for eight persons ($750) or individual tickets ($100 each)  by selecting below.  You may also make a general donation to the event, the Excellence in Health Science Research fund, or the Public Health and Life Sciences Scholarship Fund.

The Tony and Mary Hulman Health Achievement Award was established in cooperation with The Indiana Public Health Foundation, Inc. by Mary F. Hulman and inaugurated on October 1, 1985 as Indiana's "PREMIER" Health Award in recognition of Indiana's citizens and organizations whose efforts have resulted in a significant improvement to the human race.  The purpose of the awards is to create a positive image of health and to provide a forum through which a greater awareness of the contributions of health leaders is made known. 

The Hulman Awards are presented by the Indiana Public Health Foundation, Inc. for distinguished and outstanding services in the fields of

                                                                          Environmental Health

                                                                     Geriatrics and Gerontology

                                                              Preventive Medicine and Public Health                                                              

The Indiana Public Health Foundation, Inc. also recognizes outstanding individuals with its special awards for

                                                               Excellence in Health Science Research*

                                       Lifetime Award for Distinguished Service in Years of Health Advancement.

*The Excellence in Health Science Research Award provides a $500 financial reward to the recipient.  This award is funded through donations to the Health Science Research fund.  All such contributions are tax deductible under the 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit status of the Indiana Public Health Foundation, Inc.  General donations to the Foundation are also accepted, and these donations are entirely tax deductible.

The Tony and Mary Hulman Health Achievement educational awards program is funded by the purchase of individual tickets or by table sponsors (purchasing a table for eight at a reduced cost) by colleagues, family, friends, and interested citizens.  A majority of the ticket/table cost also qualifies as a tax deductible contribution as per the 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit status of the Foundation.

An endowment for a scholarship for Public Health and Life Sciences is being established.  Donations to the endowment/scholarship fund are being accepted, with the entire amount being tax deductible under the 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit status of the Foundation.  Additional information regarding the Public Health and Life Sciences Scholarship is available by contacting helenscheibner@netscape.net
